The VERTICAL PRO supporting programme is varied and extensive: from exciting discussions and presentations by experts on the stages in the Foyer and Hall B5 and in the Conference-Centre East to workshops and demonstrations in the DEMO + TEST AREA.

The presentations on the stages (Foyer East and Hall B5) will be translated (German -> English, English -> German). Headphones are available at the information desk in the foyer and directly at the stage in B5.

Practice competition “Find the error” in terms of safety and standard violations

“Find the error” is a hands-on activity on the high ropes course in the DEMO + TEST AREA, in which defects in the construction of a ropes course element are playfully discovered and safety-relevant errors and breaches of standards are identified. The identified weak points will be discussed in plenary afterwards. On Friday evening, a winner will be chosen from all participants at the IAPA Community Party.

Crashbox! PPE and mountain sports equipment with varying degrees of wear and tear in the stress test

In a live demonstration with tearing tests on the ‘Crashbox’, the PETZL Technical Institute will shed light on typical questions relating to route construction and operational inspection in artificial climbing facilities.

Test results on the usability / useful life of diseased or dead trees

Predicting the stability of dead trees used as supporting structures in high ropes courses is currently difficult and often a matter of ‘gut feeling’. The terms ‘reversible’ and ‘reversible’ have become widespread and established within rope technology, very similar to the concept of redundancy. In a way, these terms have developed a life of their own. This workshop will get to the bottom of this together.

Maritime marble: an adventure between waves and climbing

In ‘Maritime Marble’, the two route setters Alexandra Schweikart and Christopher Igel take you with them on their journey to the Greek island of Anáfi, in the heart of the Aegean Sea. Together with Captain Florian, they sail on the boat ‘Merlin’ with the plan to open up a new climbing route on the 500 metre high marble wall of Mt Kálamos.
